Temper Bicycle Works is Santa Cruz's dedicated e-bike shop at 1250 Soquel Ave. We service all major brands, sell conversion kits, and rent e-bikes for local rides. If it runs on an electric motor and two wheels, we work on it.

E-Bike Tune-Up
Full safety inspection, brake adjustment, drivetrain lube, tire pressure, motor and battery check.
Premium Tune-Up
Everything in the standard tune-up plus new brake pads and a new chain. Best value for bikes due for consumable replacement.
Battery Diagnostics
Capacity test, cell health check, BMS inspection. We'll tell you if it needs replacement or can be revived.
Motor Diagnostics & Repair
Hub motor testing, wiring inspection, controller diagnostics. We work on front hub, rear hub, and mid-drive systems.
Brake Service
Hydraulic brake bleed, pad replacement, rotor truing, mechanical cable adjustment.
Drivetrain Service
Chain, cassette, chainring, derailleur adjustment and replacement. Single-speed and multi-speed.
Flat Fix & Tire Replacement
Tube replacement, tire swap, Tannus Armor liner installation. All wheel sizes including fat tire.
E-Bike Assembly
New bike assembly from box. Complete build with full safety check before handoff.
E-Bike Conversion Installation
Professional installation of a Temper front or rear hub kit on your existing bike.

E-Bike Conversions
Already own a bike you love? Our front and rear hub conversion kits turn any bike into a capable e-bike. We can sell you the kit to install yourself, or install it in-shop. Builds typically take 1–2 hours. The result is a lightweight electric bike that fits you perfectly — often better than production e-bikes costing 2–3x more.

Most repairs are same-day or next-day. Parts availability affects turnaround on some jobs — we'll always give you an honest estimate up front. Diagnostic fee applies to all service work and is credited toward any repair.
