About the Thumb Throttle
This is the same thumb throttle included with every Temper e-bike kit. Press the thumb pad to apply exactly as much motor power as you want — fully variable, instant response. Mounts on the left or right side of your handlebars using a clamp design that doesn't require pulling your grips off.
Heads up on e-bike classification: Installing a throttle classifies your bike as a Class II e-bike under federal regulations (20 mph throttle-only assist). Without the throttle, it's Class I (pedal assist only). Check your local rules — some trails and paths restrict Class II.
We typically mount these on the left side so it doesn't compete with a right-side shifter, but it works either way.
